Laxmikanth's INDIAN POLITY 5th edition
She’d decided, that night, that she wouldn’t leave. That she would stay in India, in Delhi, and belong as hard as she could. Joey is a Reality Controller, in charge of the livestream of a charismatic and problematic celebrity in smog-choked, water-short, ever-transforming Delhi - a city on the brink of revolution, under the shadow of multiple realities and catastrophes - at the end of the 2020s. When Joey impulsively rescues a childhood friend, Rudra, from his new-elite family and the comfortable, horrific life they have chosen for him, she sets into motion a chain of events — a company takeover, a sex scandal, a series of betrayals — that disintegrates not just their public and private selves, but the invisible walls that divide the city around them. To find the lives they need, Joey and Rudra must reckon with people and forces beyond their understanding, in a world where trust is impossible, popularity is conformity, and every wall has eyes.
Social Problems in India
The agony of being burned alive is unimaginable and, for those who survive this brutal assault, the pain continues for a lifetime. In India, the burden of this insidious act falls primarily on women who are often attacked by their husbands. For survivors, life is dramatically different than before the assault. They are scarred and disfigured, sometimes beyond recognition. They are even singled out for differential treatment and are sometimes even believed to hold evil supernatural powers. They are the victims of stigma. When a woman is burned, the attack is only the beginning of a long and painful journey through life. Following the physical pain of the burns, the surgeries, and the subsequent scarring comes the worst part: living with disfigurement. This study attempts to make sociological sense of the stories of Indian women who have been attacked with fire by their husbands. The data show that after women are attacked by kerosene-laced fire, they experience two more traumas in their lives. First, society changes their identities. They are no longer "a woman," instead they are transformed into a "burned woman." Second, because that identity change is dramatic and permanent, disfigured women to varying degrees are socially ex-communicated and treated as pariahs. The present study seeks to determine how and why disfigurement stigma happens in India and the consequences of that stigma on the lives of burned women. The examination pattern needs one to see those little details which others fail to see. These details tell us how much in-depth we should know to explain a concept in the right direction. Keeping the present-day scenario in mind, JEE Advanced Physics series is written for students, to allow them not only to learn the tools but also to see why they work so nicely in explaining the beauty of ideas behind the subject. The central goal of this series is to help the students develop a thorough understanding of Physics as a subject. This series stresses on building a rock-solid technical knowledge based on firm foundation of the fundamental principles followed by a large collection of formulae. The primary philosophy of this series is to guide the aspirants towards detailed groundwork for strong conceptual understanding and development of problem-solving skills like mature and experienced physicists. This updated Third Edition of the series will help the aspirants prepare for both Advanced and Main levels of JEE conducted for IITs and other elite engineering institutions in India.
