Living courageously by lipa rath
Living Courageously, by Lipa Rath is a bold, inspirational, personal story told with honesty, humility and courage. It is a journal about living, learning, healing, growing, and being free. Lipa has created a colorful tapestry, skilfully weaving reflections from personal experiences with insights gained from writings of philosophers, scientists, doctors, researchers, and enlightened masters, of thousands of miles and years apart. The book introduces a wide range of topics organized into several short chapters, each offering a window into the search for the meaning of life. The images viewed from the windows blend with one another creating a scene extending from the room, to the yard, and all the way to the horizon. As Lipa retraces her path with us in this journey, she shines a guide’s torch on the discoveries and assertions she made along the way, on rocks and crevices to watch out for, and on yet unexplored territory. She does not claim to be an expert. Neither does she make any pretense. Whether the reader shares the strong faith that forms the backbone of this memoir or not, it is impossible to ignore or dismiss what she reveals. So believer or skeptic, sit back, relax, put your seat belt on, and enjoy the magical journey of Living Courageously. And who knows, may be some of the question marks on the path will straighten up their curves, turning into exclamations.Excerpts from the review done by Mrs. Mamata Misra – author, poet and former director at SAHELI, a social organization that continues to help Asian families in crisis at Austin, Texas, USA.e
Bliss by osho
Talks on the Shiva Sutras:- Everyone is searching for happiness, says Osho, but because they are looking in the wrong direction – outside – no one ever really finds it. Real happiness, bliss, can only be found inside, by learning the knack of dis–identifying with the mind. This book on the ancient wisdom of the Shiva Sutras explains how to do this. These sutras will challenge your ideas about how life can be lived, revealing how bliss is already hidden within the waking, dreaming and sleeping states we all experience daily. Osho shows how to detach from the desires and attachments of the mind that trap everyone during this life – beginning to be human only happens when you get out of this vicious circle called mind.
DOING GOOD BETTER
Most of us want to make a difference. We donate our time and money to charities and causes we deem worthy, choose careers we consider meaningful, and patronize businesses and buy products we believe make the world a better place. Unfortunately, we often base these decisions on assumptions and emotions rather than facts. As a result, even our best intentions often lead to ineffective—and sometimes downright harmful—outcomes. How can we do better? While a researcher at Oxford, trying to figure out which career would allow him to have the greatest impact, William MacAskill confronted this problem head on. He discovered that much of the potential for change was being squandered by lack of information, bad data, and our own prejudice. As an antidote, he and his colleagues developed effective altruism, a practical, data-driven approach that allows each of us to make a tremendous difference regardless of our resources. Effective altruists believe that it’s not enough to simply do good; we must do good better. At the core of this philosophy are five key questions that help guide our altruistic decisions: How many people benefit, and by how much? Is this the most effective thing I can do? Is this area neglected? What would have happened otherwise? What are the chances of success, and how good would success be? By applying these questions to real-life scenarios, MacAskill shows how many of our assumptions about doing good are misguided. For instance, he argues one can potentially save more lives by becoming a plastic surgeon rather than a heart surgeon; measuring overhead costs is an inaccurate gauge of a charity’s effectiveness; and, it generally doesn’t make sense for individuals to donate to disaster relief. MacAskill urges us to think differently, set aside biases, and use evidence and careful reasoning rather than act on impulse. When we do this—when we apply the head and the heart to each of our altruistic endeavors—we find that each of us has the power to do an astonishing amount of good.

Sambhog se samadhi ki aur
With complete frankness Osho discusses the three stages of sex - physical, psychological and spiritual - and provides guidance on how this raw energy can be transformed into the realization of ultimate consciousness. He explains that when we repress our basic nature, sex takes roots in the unconscious, creating an unnatural obsession. It is this psychic state that has produced much mental sickness and the widespread perversity of society today. "Sex is man's most vibrant energy," Osho says," but it should not be an end unto itself: sex should lead man to his soul."
The Complete Book of Yoga
'Just as heat is inherent in fire, so is our desire to become better.' Why are personal growth and life transformation so difficult? Does Creation wish that we fail? Of course not! The purpose behind the Universe's grand design is to make us succeed. Our own unawareness of the laws of the Universe creates the impediment. Just as physical phenomena are regulated by laws, there are spiritual principles governing the journey of life as well. Knowledge of them helps us understand why success comes so easily to some but remains a struggle for others; why some are still putting on their shoes, while others have finished the race. The beauty is that, like the physical laws of nature, the divine principles governing happiness and fulfilment in life are also eternally valid. In this book, Swami Mukundananda explains the 7 divine laws in an easily graspable manner. With knowledge of the Vedic scriptures and witty anecdotes that everyone can relate to, this book will empower you to become the best version of yourself.
